Hello members of Save The Goldfish. I think it's about time that we had some more input from some of you members for something I want to do, I hope you will read on and give me a hand to create Sing-A-Long The Album 2. Possibly the best album in the World...ever!
Add a comment with the songs you want to go on the album. Comment as soon as you can to secure your songs place on the album of the year. Although this time i think its best if we focus on the title! Songs that are actually real sing along songs rather than just favourites although the first album was mighty!

During our trip to Newquay a couple of years back there was one song that got played countless times every car journey. That song was Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger. As is usually the case with new bands Lindley had brought it to our attention. I think he had heard it on the American Pie soundtrack but however it came to our attention it was the song of the Newquay trip.
I have just found out that Harvey Danger's new album has been made available for free download, with no restrictive copy protection schemes and in many formats. They have even included electronic album notes in the download with images and credits. The album is still available to purchase as a CD (with a bonus disc) for those who want it. They also provide a means of making contributions for anyone who wants to.

[Update: 25-09-2005]
Everything should be back up and running now, you are free to post as normal with no fear of anything being lost. I would be grateful for notice of any problems you encounter.
Over the coming days STG will be moving to a new web host. This will bring new goodies and much more room to play with. The downside is that the site will be down in the next few days, vague I know but I don't want to disappoint. There is a risk of losing comments, diaries, articles and guestbook comments posted between now and when I declare all clear. So with that in mind please do not post anything you mind losing until I can be sure that everything has switched over correctly. Anything you have posted until now is safely backed up so there are no worries about losing any of that.
If everything goes well then I hope that we can be back to normal by next Monday (and by next Monday I mean Monday 26th September, why didn't I just say that in the first place? One day you'll understand, then you can tell me). Okay, enough warning... actually no:
WARNING: PLEASE DO NOT POST ANYTHING YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOSE UNTIL YOU HEAR THE ALL CLEAR FROM ME
Rest assured, we WILL be back up ASAP!

Technology Wars
I'm not sure how many of you have heard
anything about this in the news, online or in magazines of some kind.
If you haven't heard then this may come as a bit of a surprise to you
that DVD is already on it's way out and is going to be replaced. What
may surprise you even more is how quickly this will all happen. The new
formats of which there are two should be going on sale by the end of
this year/ beginning of 2006 and then begins the slow death of DVD.
Anyway getting to my point, there are two runners to take the crown
from DVD which will inevitably lead us to a war not unlike the BETAMAX
and VHS battle of the 80's which will lead us into not knowing what to
buy incase we make a BETAMAX mistake. Here is what is known about these
two formats...

Bungie & Microsoft have just announced details on nine new Halo 2
maps. They have been trying to keep it under wraps for a while now but
last week a few websites published ropey information about the new
content which forced Bungie's hand a little. You can read the official press release or head over to bungie.net for a more entertaining breakdown.
Halo 2 has been out for almost 5 months now and, it's fair to say, has already proven itself to be one of the great games, it is already the most popular Xbox game to date. What makes it stand out amongst the mountains of other FPS (First Person Shooter) games is it's multiplayer mode. I have had the game since it came out, well almost... cheers Amazon, and I have yet to finish the single player game mode, or story mode I suppose you'd call it. This is not because the single player mode is not good, it is very addictive. What keeps me from playing the single player mode is the amazingly well implemented multiplayer mode. If you have an Xbox Live account then Halo 2 is your friend, foe, lover and love-child and if you don't then I suggest you grab three people off the street because multiplayer on Halo 2 is worth kidnapping for...

Well it's the start of the year and I figure it's
time to take a look at what the world of the big screen has currently
got on offer for us. I will also be looking at the films that will be
coming out in the near future and we'll soon be able to tell if this
year is going to be any good film wise. Hopefully I'll hit on something
you like at some point as we take a look at the blockbusters but also
the films that sometimes slip through the radar.Author: deadteddy

It
started with an idea as all good things do. The idea was then
discussed and grew until it became a fully fledged thought. The thought
was then taken and expanded on until eventually a final product was
reached. That final product is coming very soon but to become that
final product it needs help from you, the STG faithful. As usual all
we're asking for is your input and opinion, maybe we can make this as
big a success as Sing-A-Long The Album, maybe even bigger. "What is this final
product?" I hear you ask. The answer to your question is simple and waiting for you below.

After going to the pub last night with Viv and Wiggy and inventing
a new game completely by accident, I've been wondering what other games
are out there that can be played in pubs. I'm not talking the usual
stuff of darts or pool but those games that have been made up and are
usually designed to make you more drunk or to make you look like a
complete fool.
On this premise I've written this article so that together we can
compile a comprehensive list of ways to waste your time in a pub, cos
let's face it... when you spend as much time in a pub as some of us
seem to then you keep needing to find new things to do.
So what I'm asking is this, don't comment with your suggestions but
rather Private Message me with them and I will edit them into this
article leaving commenting for us to say what we think once we've tried
these games out, don't worry any suggestion you make will be credited
to you just incase it is hailed as the latest fad in bar entertainment.
These games can be old ones we all know about or something you may have
just come up with, either way send me a message outlining the game and
the rules and objectives and I'll stick it on.
To start us off I've written up the idea of the game that Wiggy, Viv and Myself came up with last night.

"Knight Rider, a
shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Michael
Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the
helpless, the powerless in a world of criminals who operate above the law."
Do you want to know which of the fabulous characters you are most like? If you do then you've come to the right place.
I think you'll find this another worthy edition to STG's "Which Character Are You?" series.
Read on to find out some interesting bits of trivia on Knight Rider...
